Selecting the Perfect Wedding Invitations

Selecting the perfect wedding invitations can be a daunting task.  There’s so many options on style and design, people are often torn in very different directions.  Not to mention … how do you come up with all that formal language?!

It’s our job to make the process as fun and painless as possible for the bride, groom and their families.  So, here are a few things to consider while shopping for wedding invitations:

1)  People will look to the invitation for ques on what to wear and what to expect.  Therefore, the invitation should be a proper representation of the event.   There is a wide range of papers, ink colors, typestyles, design elements, embellishments and liners – all of which can work together to reflect your wedding.  If you’re going the church and country club route, your invitation should be formal and traditional.  However, if you’re having an intimate, relaxed beach ceremony, your invitation should set the tone for that type of atmosphere.

2)  Does your wedding have a theme or color scheme?  Whenever possible, it’s great to convey these in the invitation.  It will give guests something to look forward to!  If you’re bridal party is wearing navy and you’re getting married on a yacht, consider a crisp white invitation with a navy anchor to set the stage.

3)  Ettiquete 101:  The venue where you exchange vows (church/place of worship versus private residence, or public venue) dictates the language to be used.  Also, there are several variations of whose names are printed on the invitation in regards to parents, in-laws, step-parents,  divorced parents, etc.

We’re here to provide guidance  on what’s appropriate for your situation.  We also have templates and examples of past invitations for your reference.

Remember, invitations make the event “official,” which is very exciting!  Have fun with the process and don’t get overwhelmed by all the options.  Let us help you design the perfect invitations for your special day!
